A warm welcome to Tom Dougherty, who joins Stacuity as Pre-Sales Solution Architect.

With an extensive background in telecoms and IoT, Tom brings a unique blend of customer understanding and technical expertise to the role.

Tell us about your career to date?

“I started my career selling Porsches because I absolutely love cars, but quickly realised tech was where my passion truly lay. After graduating with a degree in Maths and Physics, I moved into the telecoms as an Account Manager at Vodafone, later progressing into a Solution Architect role which focused on IoT and MPNs. Following this, I joined a Belfast-based IoT scale-up as their Presales Lead, spending the past two years shaping their presales process and designing customer solutions for projects of varied scales.

Why did you choose to join Stacuity?

“My role as a Solutions Architect at Stacuity will involve bridging the gap between our technology, customers and end users, and of course lots of product demonstrations. My previous experience of working closely with both end-user customers and IoT device suppliers (although slightly different), has given me valuable insights into how customers like to interact with their IoT devices. This perspective will help in bridging that critical gap between Stacuity’s solutions and customer needs.”

What will you be doing at Stacuity?

“Stacuity’s technology genuinely excites me. Having had extensive hands-on experience in delivering IoT solutions, I immediately recognised the immense value of the product and just how innovative and disruptive it is. Plus, I love continually learning new things, and now I’ll get to deepen my knowledge about the crucial space between devices and customers.”

What are you most looking forward to?

“I hear the parties at Stacuity are legendary! On a serious note, I’m genuinely looking forward to diving deep into the technology, leveraging that knowledge to shape and enhance our presales process, and of course, helping close some big deals along the way!”

“I am most excited about contributing to the growth of the company and to use and improve my skills with an already talented group of people. There is a lot to do and many challenges ahead and knowing I can make a difference is what motivates me.”
