IoT Connectivity For Building Management

Enhance, Simplify and Secure Connectivity in Building Management and Smart Cities

The Internet of Things (IoT) is revolutionising the way we manage buildings, offering transformative benefits across commercial, industrial, and residential properties.

IoT/Enterprise Data requirements are currently serviced by traditional monolithic core mobile networks. Unlike traditional solutions, Stacuity’s global software-defined mobile core was architected with an API-first approach, specifically designed to support Enterprise Data and IoT use cases.

This modern architecture meets the growing demands for flexibility, security, scalability, and self-configuration that customers have come to expect from hyperscale and fixed network providers.

Improve efficiency, control, visibility and gain secure remote access to IoT devices with Stacuity.

Optimise Performance of IoT Devices for Building Management and Smart Cities

Our innovative mobile core solution supports the smart building landscape in a number of ways, ensuring data integrity, performance and efficient, cost-effective operations.

Secure Data Transmission

IoT sensors distributed across multiple building systems continuously collect and transmit operational data, our SIMs ensure this sensitive data is securely transmitted to management platforms, with the ability to remove the need for this traffic to be exposed to the internet.

Vslice feature: Customer can create segregated estates of device types into logical networks. Each VSlice is isolated from all others and serves as a security boundary which you can control. Similar to VPC (AWS) or a VNet (Azure).

Routing Target feature: Ability to self-configure the external network, which your endpoints can communicate with, or vice versa. Our capabilities enable you to configure a VPN between the Stacuity platform and your remote VPN server. For example, this could be a firewall or a public cloud provider, enabling you to secure the traffic by avoiding it from the internet.

Real-Time Control and Monitoring

Building operators gain access to bi-directional real- time data feeds from endpoints such as IoT sensors, gateways and control systems, which significantly improves monitoring and management of environmental, energy, security and hardware infrastructure.

Stacuity’s event alerting features enables management teams to select from over 45 event types. These alerts can be configured and integrated via API to the BMS to assist with rapid response, predictive maintenance and ensuring optimal building performance.

Example: Sensors deployed to control waste management can alert when defined thresholds are reached within real time and the data is sent securely to the central BMS to request intervention.

Remote Access

Gain remote access for upgrades, configuration and fault resolution.

Our solution allows maintenance teams to securely access IoT endpoints from anywhere, via a secure public URL, without exposing the device to the internet.

Unlike Wi-Fi, which often has limited range and reliability, SIM-based connections allow for real-time remote management. Through our Remote Access Proxy feature technicians can investigate faults, reconfigure device or apply any required upgrades. This avoids costly site visits and delays, improving efficiency.

Optimise Network Performance

Unlike standard SIMs where you have little control over the operator networks that your device connects to, Stacuity enables customers to select networks based on the criticality of the use case.

For example, if the endpoint is a fire alarm, cost is not a factor, as this is a critical safety device that must always work. Therefore the default setting would be any network.

This provides building operators with much greater network control, improving resilience, performance and efficiency. Accompanied with the option for Multi IMSI SIMs and eSIMs this provides a highly resilient connectivity service.

Efficient Energy Management

By securely linking IoT sensors (such as electricity meters and sub-meters) to EMS platforms, Stacuity enables more precise control of energy usage. Building managers can remotely adjust energy consumption based on real-time data, reducing waste, and optimising energy efficiency across smart cities or large building portfolios.

Simplified SIM Management

Stacuity’s user-friendly multi-tenant portal or API facilitates easy management of SIMs. Customers can seamlessly integrate existing Building Management systems with the Stacuity API.
